About The Author
Born in small Northeast farming community in the 1970’s, Joseph “Joe” Sandagato gained perspective, from a young age, of the world around him. He is a father, executive, volunteer, caregiver, host, author, and he has spent his adult life invested in better understanding the world around him, and helping others to do the same. This has naturally been part of the exploration started with his mother (whom everyone called ‘Basha’ — an affectionate nickname given by his dad) when he was just a toddler. A life rich in exploration of the world and the effects of social constructs upon individuals was the unspoken basis for their lifelong connection to sharing kindness and compassion, both personally and professionally.
When his mother passed in 2025, he began to write about the “little life lessons” shared by him and his mom throughout her life. Indeed, in writing the eulogy, Joe recognized the value of his mother’s life. It was then that he penned the words that helped so many to overcome fear, grief, struggle and so much more.
Words of Wisdom From Basha is the ultimate guide to revisiting life lessons through a warm story of a life between mother and son, and all of the practical lessons that they shared with each other and in their community engagement, as well as through their professional connections to human services work and community-based support.
So if you want to get a little help from ‘mom’ or just want to think more clearly to “level-up” your life…give Basha a try!
